I had a “slipping grip” experience several months after purchasing my first new set of golf clubs.  New clubs with new grips should not slip?  That’s what I expect, but it wasn’t happening with these new clubs.

So, I went to a golf store and explained my plight to which they responded, “You need to re-grip the clubs”.  I found this answer odd, because I just bought these clubs new.

Thus, the idea for Gotta-Grip was born: a way to keep golf club grips feeling like they should, feeling like new grips, but not the slippery ones.

Our testing shows that Gotta-Grip works well on all grip types and brands.  Leather, rubber, compound, and even the new tennis style soft grips all respond well to our product when they fell less than new.  So, whether your favorite grips come from Golf Pride, Lamkin, Nike, Titleist, Ping, Royal, or Winn, Gotta-Grip can help when you need to replace them but can’t do this before your next round.

In fact, our product is meant for just those occasions when one is “in between re-gripping”, but still wants all the control, distance and feel that new grips provide.  I am surprised at the number of people who try our product and then say, “WOW, I didn’t know my grips were that worn”.

We even applied for a ruling from the USGA and our product indeed was given the ruling that it conforms to the Rules of Golf.  We were also granted a US patent for the product.

If you consider that the average price people pay for a new grip professionally installed is in the $6 range per grip, many golfers and especially those who do not play many rounds do not re-grip their clubs at least once a year, BUT THEY SHOULD.

A big misconception about Gotta-Grip is that we are trying to prevent people from replacing their old worn grips.  This could not be further from the truth.  In fact, I re-grip my clubs every season.

We are NOT COMPETING WITH GRIP MANUFACTURERS!  There are products on the market that help motorists if their tires go flat on the highway, but the product does change the fact that they need new tires. That’s equivalent to Gotta-Grip.  Think of us as the proverbial can of “flat tire fixer” that you can have on your golf bag when you need a little tack back on your grip.

We are not even competing with those who install new grips such as pro shops, golf specialty stores, etc.  We feel they should sell Gotta-Grip to those heading out to play golf who cannot possibly re-grip before the round!

We suggest that people get a qualified person to re-grip their clubs once a season, or every 30 to 40 rounds, whichever occurs first.  The good news is that almost any pro shop can do this for you either on premises, or through farming the work out to companies in their area that specialize in this.  You can even buy kits that allow you to do this yourself. However, if you have graphite shafts, you are better off having a professional perform this service because you can ruin a graphite shaft quickly with one bad move with the removal tool. 

We are pleased to offer a product for under $20.00 SRP that can help save the day when you play golf and need a little extra confidence.  While some people even use our product on new grips, it is intended for use on slipping grips, when the ambient temperature is above 60°F.  Bottom line is, when your grips have lost that “loving feeling”, it may be time for Gotta-Grip.
